Magazine Envelopes

What you will need:

  • scissors
  • glue
  • magazines
  • small envelope
  • ruler
  • pen/ pencil
  • construction paper/ hard stock

To start off, go collect all those old magazines you keep staring at that you would just love to get rid of. Look through them and tear out the pages that you like. I chose everything from kitchens to animals to food ads.

Then, find an old envelope...a small envelope
(the one I use is 5 2/5" x 4 4/5")
and easily take it apart. You don't want to rip
the edges because you are going to trace it.
The envelope is going to be flimsy after you open it up so, like I said, take your envelope and trace it onto a piece on construction paper or a harder piece of paper and then cut it out. Watch your edges though. You will be tracing this too and it will become your envelope(s). You want them to be pretty and you want them to be able to stay together so take your time.
Trace the construction paper cutout onto the magazine pages you tore out and cut them out.

Take your ruler and pen and trace lines where your envelopes will fold over and then fold it.

It's coming along.......

Put a small amount of glue on the sides after you fold them over. I put too much to show you how much not to put.

Before your glue dries, take your finger and make sure the inside of the envelope is not sticking together. Then, let it sit for about
5-10 minutes and....

Voila!!!
Envelopes made of magazines!!!
